Location

Villa Fiji is situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty and is nestled on a gentle hillside against a backdrop of mountains, olive groves and almond trees on the outskirts of the typically Spanish village of Los Romanes with its small supermarket stocking all the essentials, bars, restaurants and olive mill.

The Viñuela valley is situated in the Málaga province and is an excellent location east of Málaga. A 20 minute drive from the Mediterranean resort Torre del Mar takes you up to the valley with the glistening Lake Viñuela among the hills that are covered with Olive and Almond trees. Take a drive down to Torre del Mar and try some of the fantastic seafood that borders the seafront like a string of pearls.

Activities, Sports & Shopping

The eastern part of the Costa del Sol has has 30 kilometers of beaches stretching from Rincón de la Victoria to the boundary with Province of Granada. Torre del Mar, Torrox and Nerja have long sandy beaches. Around Nerja and at Maro the cliffs form small coves where the sea is usually crystal clear.

Those who want to explore the villages of the Axarquía can combine sunbathing and swimming with an appetiser and the good local wine in the popular 'chiringuitos', as the beach restaurants are called here. They are right on the beach, almost at the water’s edge. There is a water park 15 minutes away at Torre Del Mar and there are water parks and theme parks near Málaga.

There are local shops nearby and large shopping centres at Velez Málaga/Torre del Mar and Rincon de la Victoria. The towns of Torre del Mar, Velez Malaga and Nerja also have many excellent shops.

Golfing

For the golfers amongst you, we have supplied a full set of golf clubs for your use during your stay. Baviera Golf Course opened in 2002, is located 20 minutes drive from the Villa Fiji at La Caleta de Velez in the direction towards Nerja and is open all year round. This 18 hole, par 71, 5066 metres course was designed by the European Tour professional José Maria Cañizares and has wide fairways and large, fast greens plus with some cleverly placed water hazards which put this course in the moderately difficult bracket. Facilities include golf buggies, practice balls, pitch & putt, covered driving range, golf school, caddies, club rental, fully equipped club house, restaurants and a professional shop. The course enjoys magnificent views of both the sea and the mountains and is only 200 metres from the La Caleta Yachting Club.

Añoreta Golf Course is located 40 minutes drive from Villa Fiji in the direction of Málaga. This 18 hole, par 72, 5673 metre course has similar facilities to Baviera Golf Course.
